Low Cost- Budget Destinations

Travel makes one modest: You’ll see how small a place you occupy in the world”

How do we choose the budget destinations that we do?

Everyone really does ask us, “where to next?” And our response is almost always the same-” where the deal takes us!” We are eager and interested in seeing as much as we can ( obviously to varying degrees) and believe every destination is worth experiencing at least once. Of course we have some of our favorite spots that we are prioritizing around, but we also are open to new destinations based on the deals we find. For us, flight cost is a huge factor in our planning, so if we can minimize that cost as much as possible, then we are on the way!

Fun fact, the most $ we ever paid for our flight was for our Honeymoon. We flew roundtrip from New York to Portugal for $800 USD each- yikes! We were young, in love, and didn’t know much about travel hacking at the time. In the last few years, with the help of miles and points, we haven’t paid more then $300 USD for any flight, anywhere in the world! We’ve also used credit card miles to fly FREE to places like Belize, Mexico, Aruba, Italy, Amsterdam ( SO many free flights with KLM!), Japan, Kenya, and Uganda….to name a few!

So when thinking of ” where to next?” consider how flexible you are! Does the deal determination the destination or does the destination our way the deal?
